Q. Question?
I am looking at buying a desktop PC and am currently looking at these 2 models on the internet:
OPTION 1: AMD Dual Core 5000+, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, 22"TFT monitor = £349.
or
OPTION 2: AMD Quad Phenom 9550, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, 22" TFT = £429.
Both packages look pretty much the same but is it worth the £80 extra for the Quad processor instead of the Dual processor? (i don't really do gaming just mainly business applications and occasionally Flight Simulator but i can't stand my current 2004 PC crashing all the time & having to wait for 3mins for it to boot up).
Thanks for any help! :)
A. Best Answer: Lets put it this way.....
MS will not have the quad core kernel out for years to come within the last 12 months MS brought out the 64x2 bit system. but you have to buy the 64 bit windows, at a high price.
where as Linux have had the 64x2 system out over two years.. so if you're planning on going for the 64x2 or the quad core you will need the operating system to match the hardware... check out Linux.. it is faster, it is Secure. and most of all, It is Free.. with all the software you will ever need... FREE
Q. Question?
Well, it starts in 2 weeks, I have been choosen to go abroad to Southern Italy "Calabria" I think its called, right on the coast, for a business type internship..
I will be taught Italian and work in a company..(unsure of what company and what work I will be doing) however accomadation is paid for, as is my flight.
Is it worth doing in the south of italy(if it was northern I wouldnt complain, but south..im not so sure!)...when I would like to gain some real knowledge of working in a business?
Thanks
any views or takes on the topic is welcomed
A. Best Answer: Of course you should take the opportunity to travel abroad and learn about our world first hand! Esp if things are paid for.
Is this through school? Or a private company? Just be sure to research the offer thuroughly so you don't end up in Iran or owing them a gob of money for the trip.
Q. Question?
I am flying through Lufthansa to Franktfurt. Do i need a Transit Visa to change my flight?
A. Best Answer: Indian passport holders require a transit visa for Germany EXCEPT if you hold
- a visa or other residence permit for a member country of the European Union or the European Economic Area you do not need an airport transit visa.
As you have a visa for Ireland you would be an exception.

Q. Question?
Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party
After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room.
Those who remained talked about their kids.
The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful Company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."
The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."
The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a Multimillionaire. He also gave away
something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion."
The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?"
One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons. ...What about your son?"
The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub."
The three friends said: "What a shame... what a disappointment."
The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and
a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."
A. Best Answer: It's true Tat.
Should I "look up" some some gay friends.
I would if it didn't seem like such a pain in the @rse.
They do seem to be loaded but I 'm not too keen on recieving a large deposit.
His son must have been the ringleader hey!
Q. Question?
I'm a British Asian, and heard about incidents of racial discrimination in Russia. A friend of mine , living in St Petersburg, also told me that many Russians are not friendly with people of colour.
Now I need to fly to South Korea for a business trip. Searching for flights, it turns out Russian Aeroflot has the cheapest fare.
Does anyone have experience flying with this company? Is it good enough in terms of the service and their passengers' attitude.
A. Best Answer: Their reputation is not great but that is based on the old Aeroflot coming out of the Communist era. Their domestic flights can still be on old Russian aircraft but International flights are on new modern aircraft. They've come a long way in the last few years and are pretty reliable now (they are my company's preffered choice for cargo) and I've flown as a passenger and it was fine - no problem with cabin crew
Moscow is becoming a gateway to Asia with a few airlines coming through it. They are also getting more used to people of colour, but racism towards Asians, mainly migrants from the republics, is a problem. It should be okay if you are stopping over on business. A colleague of mine (who is black) goes out and has no problems.
Check the aircraft type for the flight. It will be an Airbus or MD80, which means its less than 10 years old (probably less).
Don't expect anything to special at the airport though. There's a new terminal being built at Sheremetyevo but the current one is still a bit of a relic from the communist era - Okay though. Don't now about the other one (Domedodovo) but I'd guess Aeroflot goes through SVO for the Asian route
Q. Question?
My cell phone was stolen just before I took a flight overseas. I tried calling Verizon, but they only have 1800 #'s on their site which cannot be accessed overseas. So I tried calling my cell phone and some guy picked up and he said that he would leave it at the business I left it at for me. I called the business the next day and sure enough he never dropped it off. I kept calling the phone and it went straight to vm so I thought the battery ran out and I had nothing to worry about. Just called the # again and some guy picked up that was different then who I spoke to and he tried to make it seem as though I dialed the wrong #. What sucks is I CAN'T GET A HOLD OF VERIZON WIRELESS with these 1800 #'s they have listed. Anyone know another # where I can reach them. My phone's been used for days by this guy because I can't report it stolen.
I can't contact them. I tried calling from my overseas cell phone and I don't get an operator or anything. When I call from a landline (which is like $7 per minute where I'm staying because as you said 800 # are charged at international rates) Verizon puts me on hold for several minutes and then disconnects my call! Never get to speak to an agent. I guess while I'm over here all I can do is write an email while that guy has a blast with my phone.
A. Best Answer: You could try surfing www.verizonwireless.com aggressively, but I do understand what you mean.
Verizon has a reputation as being a good provider in the US, and utterly worthless abroad, and it does show in their website (we're desperate to sell you overseas plans we are no good at, and just try finding support).
Best thing you could try is try all the options on the website, and if all else fails use the "contact us" option and pretend you "are not a customer yet."
Most businesses will pay a fair amount of attention to a potential customer - and either way you immediately have "printable documentation" that you told them and are hence not liable for any costs thereafter.
By the way - can you really not call the 1-800 numbers?
Even if you agree to pay higher rates for the call?
It used to work for me. Have you tried a phonecard? What about calling directory services where you are and asking them to connect you?
Q. Question?
Ireland is not link directly to any African Countries, especially Nigeria. How possible it is for any airline to take up this route? Or, if possible, how could i run the business on my own? Get airline to do it and get some royalties!
A. Best Answer: You have to apply to the EASA for the route rights
No chance to have it without an airline
